Aditi Ashok misses cut at Marathon LPGA Classic as Nasa Hataoka holds the lead

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok missed her third cut on LPGA Tour this season after carding a 1-over 72 in the second round of the Marathon LPGA Classic on Friday.

Aditi, who started the event with an even-par 71, made two bogeys and just one birdie in her second round to lost a berth from the last two days competition at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Sylvania, Ohio.

Despite missing the cut this week, she has been in decent form this season as she made seven cuts in ten events she played this year on the LPGA Tour. Her best finish was a tie for 23rd at the LPGA Drive on Championship in March.

Nasa Hataoka

Nasa Hataoka, who amazed everyone with a blistering 10-under 61 in the first round, carded a decent 2-under to hold the lead at the LPGA Tour’s prize money event.

A day after shooting a flawless 61 with the help of ten birdies, Hataoka made four in a row on Nos. 14-17 to a salvage 69.

After the halfway stage of the LPGA event, Nasa Hataoka was holding a two strokes lead over Mina Harigae.

The American golfer Mina Harigae also holds her solo second place after carding another spotless 6-under 66 to reduce the four strokes gap by two.

Defending champion Danielle Kang was sitting at tied-10th position with 7-under 135.
