Anirban Lahiri makes cut at Farmers Insurance Open

Anirban Lahiri carded a decent 2-under 70 in the second round to make the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open on Friday.

Lahiri, who shot 1-under 71 in the first round, added a modest 70 in the second and managed to advance to weekend action while sitting on the last qualifying berth.

Lahiri competing in his second tournament of 2022, now needs a solid third and fourth round to finish in a respectable position.

Adam Schenk, who shot the best round of the day, shared the lead with World No.1 Jon Rahm (65) and 14-time PGA Tour champion Justin Thomas (63) at the Torrey Pines.

The 30-year-old Adam had a bogey-free round of 10-under 62 to reach an overall 13-under at the halfway stage.

Defending champion Patrick Reed made a solid comeback and posted 6-under 66 to his first-round 72 to climb to tied-23th spot.

The cut was applied at 3-under 139.

The notables who missed the cut were 2021 PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson, World No.17 Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, and Jordan Spieth, to name a few.
