Anirban Lahiri slips to tied-50 at PGA Bermuda Championship

Indian golfer Anirban
Lahiri lost his track on day two at the PGA Tour’s inaugural Bermuda
Championship in Southampton.

Lahiri, who has had a
great start to the new season, and was at the tied-7th position after the
superb day 1 with a five-under 66 in the first round but couldn’t sustain the
momentum, and is now lying tied-50 after the second round of the PGA Bermuda
Championship.

Lahiri had four birdies
and 3 bogeys, including two birdies in five holes between 15th and 18th. But
the double bogey on the 11th hole shatters his round 1 hard work at the Bermuda
championship.

While the other Indian
on the field Arjun Atwal plays a similar kind of game (-2 under 69) on round
two as well, but slips from tied-34th to a tied-40th position with a total of
-4 under 138 in two days.

The American Brendon
Todd is settled at the top of the leaderboard, as he birdied his last four
holes on Friday for an 8-under 63 and a share of the lead with Harry Higgs and
Scottie Scheffler after the second round of the PGA Tour’s inaugural Bermuda
Championship.

Todd finished on the
front nine at hilly Port Royal Golf Club, Southampton, also birdieing Nos. 2
and 4. Higgs shot a 65, closing with a birdie on the par-4 18th. Scheffler, the
first-round leader after a 62, had a 69. All three of them were now at 11-under
131.

‘’It’s one of the
shorter ones we play on the tour and it forces everybody to hit the ball with
the same clubs off the tee,’’ Todd said. ‘’The good thing about that for me is,
I’m hitting the same clubs into the greens as everybody else and for some reason
that tends to work out well in my favor. So, the course is good for me, for my
game, and I’ve been swinging well.’’
