Hitaashee Bakshi shoots blistering 5-under 67 to grab first-round lead at Aamby Valley

Hitaashee Bakshi started from where she had left last week, as with a blistering 5-under 67, she took the first-round lead at the fourth leg of Hero WPGT.
Bakshi, who won the third leg last week with a margin of three shots, made a solid start with five birdies without any error in the first-nine holes. She had a steady back-nine as well, where she shot an even-par 36 to finish her day at 5-under 67 to claim a one-shot advantage over Pranavi Urs.
The first leg winner Pranavi Urs also started with a bang as in her first nine-holes game, she mixed four birdies against a single bogey while with a birdie and eight pars on the back-nine, she ended the day at 4-under 68.
Hitaashee and Pranavi were the only golfers to score under par scores on an opening day as the remaining the player had scores in the over-par range.

The third place was claimed by experienced Ridhima Dilawari, who shot a steady 1-over 73 at the Aamby Valley Green Golf in Pune. Dilawari witnessed two bogeys and the only birdie in her round to settle at solo third.
While both India’s International stars Vani Kapoor and Gaurika Bishnoi shot a matching 2-over 74 to be placed tied-4th heading into the second round.
Vani had a mixed round as in both the front and back nines, she shot two bogeys against a birdie.
While Gaurika had a completely rollercoaster round, after a 1-under thru the first three holes, she saw a double bogey on 408 yards par-4 4th hole followed by two pars and another double bogey on par-5 seventh hole and completed her first nine with two pars at 3-over 39.
Though she rebounded nicely on the back nine, shooting two birdies against a single bogey to tie for fourth place after the first round.
Amandeep Drall and Rhea Purvi were a further shot behind at tied-6th.
