Kevin Kisner wins Wyndham Championship in six-man playoff

Kevin Kisner secured a victory at the PGA Tour by defeating five players in a six-man playoff on Sunday.

Kisner claimed the Wyndham Championship title after hitting a birdie on the second extra hole to end his playoff victory drought.

A pack of six golfers finished their Wyndham run at a matching 15-under par score which forced a playoff.

In the playoff, Adam Scott, Roger Sloan, Kevin Na, Si Woo Kim and Branden Grace all had made pars on the first additional hole, but Kisner, with a birdie, emerged as the champion.

“I want to make the Tour Championship first, that's a big goal of mine every year,” said Kisner, who is currently ranked 69th on the FedExCup rankings.

The top 125 will qualify for the first playoff tournament - The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club. After that event, the top 70 players qualify into the BMW Championship, and lastly, the top 30 will compete in the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

However, the 2016 Rio Olympic golf gold medalist Justin Rose missed the top-125 players FedEx Cup cut by one berth.
