Khalin Joshi shoots sublime 67 to take first-round lead at The Singapore International

Khalin Joshi carded a sublime 5-under 67 to grab the first-round lead at The Singapore International on Thursday.

Playing in the Asian Tour’s first event of 2022, Joshi emerged as the best in the field of 122 players in windy conditions, where most of the golfers score over-par scores.

The 29-year-old Joshi smashed seven birdies against two bogeys in his impressive round of 67.

William Hollard of England, who remained on top of the leaderboard most of the time today, finished his first-round journey at solo second with a solid score of 3-under 69 in the challenging conditions.

Ajeetesh Sandhu shot a decent 2-under 70 to share the third spot along with America’s Paul Peterson.

A pack of four golfers including, the 2019 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion Jazz Janewattananond were at the tied-5th spot.

Among the other 13 Indians competing in the field, only Abhijit Chadha and Udayan Mane were placed inside top-30 at the US$ 1,000,000 prize money event.

Chadha, who won the Pune Open Golf Championship by a margin of six strokes last month, carded an even-par 72 to be placed tied-10th alongside current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Wade Ormsby and eight orders. While the Olympian Udayan Mane (73) was at the tied-19th place.
