Abhijit Singh Chadha maintained his rhythm on the third day as well to claim a one-stroke lead over Kartik Sharma at the Pune Open Golf Championship.
The Chandigarh golfer, who shot 63 and 65 in his first two rounds, carded another spectacular 6-under 64 to grab the crown’s spot at the Rs.40 lakh event.
The not so behind Kartik Sharma, the overnight leader, carded a decent 3-under 67 on day three to drop to second place at 16-under 193.
A shootout between Abhijit and Kartik, lying 24th and 25th in the PGTI Order of Merit respectively, is now in the offing on the final day as the duo are miles ahead of the rest of the field.

The remaining golfers were eight shots behind Chadha and Kartik with one round of play left.
Sunit Chowrasia, the nephew of India’s international star SSP Chowrasia, shot the day’s best score of seven-under 63 that propelled him 11 spots to tied third at eight-under 201 along with Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (68) and Bengaluru’s Syed Saqib Ahmed (68).
Chowrasia, who is searching for his maiden win on Tour, smashed nine birdies against a single bogey to reach tied-3rd spot after the end of day 3. Though his effort was commendable, he still needed to play another thrilling game on the last day to win the championship.
