Rory Hie takes charge with one-shot lead at halfway stage of Gurugram Challenge
Indonesia's Rory Hie carded a modest 3-under 69 in the second round to maintain his lead on the Gurugram Challenge 2022 lead.
Rory, who started his campaign with a blistering 9-under 63, added 69 on the second day to reach 12-under and claimed a one-shot lead heading into weekend action at the PGTI-ADT co-sanctioned US$ 75,000 prize money event.
Dodge Kemmer of the America tied for second place at 11-under 133 with Chanat Sakulpolaphasian of Thailand, who shot a 67 on day two.
Among the Indians, Manu Gandas and Abhijit Chadha were the best-placed Indians after the halfway stage.

Both Manu and Abhijit produced scores of 66 to be at tied-fourth. While Zimbabwean golfer Benjamin Follett-Smith and Ira Alido of the Philippines also joined them at fourth at a total of 10-under 134.
Pawan Kumar took the honours of shooting the best round of the day. He posted a spectacular nine-under 63to move up 55 spots to tied eighth place at nine-under 135.The halfway cut fell at three-under 141. Sixty-one professionals made the cut, including 40 Indians.
Chanat Sakulpolaphasian chipped in for eagle on the 18th during his round of 67, which kept him in contention.
Abhijit Singh Chadha made five straight birdies during his round of 66. Manu Gandas, who also fired a 66 to share fourth place with Chadha and two others, made a long eagle putt from just off the green on the third.
The young gun Karandeep Kochhar, also sharing eighth place, had an incredible run of six consecutive birdies during his round of 64.
Pre-tournament favourite Rashid Khan had a bit off the day at work, as he only managed to score 71 and was in tied 24th place at six-under 138 after the midway stage.
