Things to know about FedEx Cup 2019

The Championship trophy for the PGA Tour “FedEx Cup” was started from August 8 – 25. The 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs now have just three weeks instead of the typical four, and things are faster than ever before. Also, there are certain things to know about for this year’s FedEx Cup playoffs. So, let’s discuss some of them.

The No.1 golfer will start the Tour Championship with (-10) based on FedEx Cup standings through the BMW Championship followed by, No.2 starts at (-8), No.3 at (-7), No.4 at (-6), and No. 5 at (-5). Whereas the golfers 6-10 will be at (-4), No.11-15 at (-3), No.16-20 at (-2), and the players ranked between 26-30 will start at even par.

As far as the current standings are concerned, Brooks would start with -10 par score, Rory at -8, Dustin at -4, and woods who is 27th, would begin at even par.

At this
week’s Northern Trust, the top 125 players off the FedEx Cup points list are on
the field. That number for the BMW Championship reduces to 70. Then the Top 30
will advance to the Tour Championship from Medinah to Atlanta.

-         The
competition has been curtail from four to three weeks

-         The
playoffs have been hauled a month earlier

-         The FedEx Cup bonus pool was increased from $35 to $60 million, and almost 50 % jump in the winner prize from $10 to $15.

Update on Northern Trust

Dustin
Johnson is at the 1st spot with a total of (-12) in the Northern Trust leader
board, Johnson starts his campaign at No.7 position with (1,686 points) in the
FedEx Cup, and if he wins, then he can jump 6 spot to reach the No.1position
beating brooks (2,887 points).

The
star golfers Henrik Stenson (85th) and Sam Burns (89th) did not play the first
round (The Northern Trust) and, thus, are already eliminated.

The
official 70 golfers who qualify for the second round (BMW Championship) won’t
be known until the end of play on Sunday. Players who started the week outside
70 have no such way to make up the ground and, as such, are done with this
season.

Last
year’s champion Justin Rose Started the FedEx Cup Playoffs 11th on the points
list, but now looking to climb his way into a better position before the TOUR
Championship.
