Tvesa, Diksha and Shubhankar make steady start at Scandinavian Mixed

Golfers Tvesa Malik and Diksha Dagar, alongwith Shubhankar Sharma, were the three bright spots for India on Day One of the inaugural Scandinavian Mixed Masters at the Vallda G&CC, Gothenburg, Sweden.
The trio was lying Tied-56th after carding a steady two-under in the first round of the £860,000 prize money event.
Tvesa Malik had six birdies, two bogeys, and one double-bogey, while Diksha Dagar made three birdies against one bogey in their first round of two-under 70.
Shubhankar, who started with an eagle-birdie-birdie and was four-under after three holes, made five birdies, three bogeys, one eagle, and one double-bogey to sit at tied-56th after the first round.
The fourth Indian in the field, Ajeetesh Sandhu, carded an even-par to grab a tied-94th position in a field of 156, comprising 78 men and 78 women from the European Tour and Ladies European Tour.

Austria’s Christine Wolf and England’s Sam Horsfield fittingly shared the lead after a day of low scoring at the Annika Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson’s hosted Scandinavian Mixed.
Wolf fired an eagle and six birdies in his brilliant round of 64 to set the clubhouse target of eight under par which was matched later by Horsfield, who smashed nine birdies and a bogey at the exciting tournament.
