Viraj Madappa, Khalin Joshi share 3-rd round lead at MP Cup

Young Viraj Madappa turned the table on Thursday after carding a spectacular 6-under 66 in the third round to reach the top position at the MP Cup 2021.
The 24-year-old from Kolkata shot the best car of the day to storm into the joint lead at 12-under 204, along with Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi, who shot a steady 3-under 69 at the Delhi Golf course.
Panchkula’s Angad Cheema carded a flawless 67 to sit at third place at 10-under 206 going into the final round.
Viraj Madappa, currently ninth on the PGTI Order of Merit and fresh from two top-10s in the last three PGTI events, made seven birdies against a single bogey in his third round.

Khalin Joshi, on the other hand, had a mixed round with six birdies and three bogeys, but he is still in the lead thanks to his superb 66 on Wednesday.
Delhi’s Rashid Khan and Sri Lankan N Thangaraja were tied for fifth at eight-under 208.
Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Singh Sandhu also shot the day’s best score of 66 to be placed tied ninth at six-under 210.
Indian star Shiv Kapur (70) was a further shot behind in tied 12th position.
Another star attraction SSP Chawrasia and PGTI Order of Merit leader Karandeep Kochhar were both in tied 32nd place at two-over 218.
