Manu Gandas claims second PGTI title with three-shot victory at Glade One Masters

Manu Gandas fired a modest 2-under 70 in the final round to claim a comfortable three-shot victory at the Glade One Masters on Friday.
Gandas, who was the overnight leader by two shots, maintained his decent run and played a soft game throughout the day to bring home a card of 70 and register his second win on the PGTI.
Harendra Gupta of Chandigarh, who shot rounds of (36-34-68-70), ended as runner-up with a total of five- under 211.Gupta, before the commencement of the final round, was at 2-over 146, but his electrifying performance of seven- under 65 in the fourth and final round, left all stunned as he not just finished as runner-up but also set a new course record.
The unique tournament was held at the Glade One Golf Resort & Club, in which the first two rounds were comprised of nine holes each. The third and fourth rounds comprised 18 holes each.

Manu, who won his maiden PGTI title last year at the Telangana Open, started his day with four birdies featuring three long conversions on the front-nine to open up a mammoth seven-shot lead over the chasing pack.
Gandas, the runner-up at last year’s inaugural edition, sank a birdie on the opening hole, followed by three consecutive birdies from the seventh to the ninth. He landed his approach from 110 yards to within a couple of feet of the flag on the ninth.
Harendra Gupta, on the other side of the table, was lying tied 16th and eight off the lead after round three, was off to a brilliant start as he drained four birdies over the first 11 holes. Gupta then dropped a bogey on the 13th before signing off in style with birdies on the last four holes.
Karan Pratap Singh of Faridabad claimed third place at four-under 212, while Mysuru’s Yashas Chandra secured fourth position at three-under 213.
