Ridhima Dilawari wins 14th leg of Hero WPGT

Seasoned golfer Ridhima Dilawari maintained her reputation of doing wonders in tough conditions and emerged victorious in the 14th leg of Hero WPGT despite hitting triple bogey on the last hole.

The young Dilawari, who shot a moderate 4-over 74 in the final round, grabbed her second WPGT title of the year and third of the 2020-21 season.

She started her final day journey with a bogey-par-bogey, then she smashed three back-to-back pars and finally a birdie on seventh followed by even-pars on the 8th and 9th holes.

After the completion of the front-nine, Dilawari and Saaniya were tied for the lead with nine more holes to play to witness the winner.

Ridhima Dilawari scored three birdies against three bogeys and a triple bogie on the back nine.

Saaniya, on the other hand, who needed an eagle on 18th to win, only managed to hit an even-par to finish just one shot off the winner.

First two days leader, Lakhmehar Pardeshi, lost her momentum on the final day and posted a dreary 77 to end her run at third place.

The day’s low round belonged to Anisha Aggarwal, who carded a decent 2-over 72 to finish at tied-8th alongside amateur Smriti Bhargav.

Dilawari, with this third victory of the 2020-21 season, moves up to the seventh position on the WPGT Order of Merit list. While the veteran Amandeep Drall, who didn’t participate in this week’s event, continues to remain on top and most likely will finish the season as the winner of Order of Merit
